People Jesus said “This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples-when they see the love you have for each other.” (John 13:35 MSG)  We believe we must be fully committed to one another in order to fully complete the will of God.  We believe that we must be willing to help each other in the hardest times and ready to celebrate in the happiest times.  And we believe there is something essential about having people around you that are like-minded and hope to inspire each other as we each strive towards the life God has put before each of us. Mission
Meetings We meet every Wednesday evening at 9pm @ the new TR Downtown facility.  It’s located at 111 S. Main Street.  Check facebook.com/MyJesusU for more details. Mission
Campus Awakening God is looking to move on our campuses in a big way & we want to help foster and be a part of what He’s doing.  We are partnered with Jesus Culture Campus Awakening.  We expect to see signs & wonders and want to be agents of God’s power on our campuses. Mission
The Word The Word is the basis of our lives as followers of Christ.  We believe in the power of Truth and the importance of the Bible in our everyday lives.  It’s like water – essential to life.
Vision You may coming to college knowing exactly what you’re working towards – degree, career & life path perfectly planned.  Or you may be completely undecided and unsure of what to eat for breakfast, much less what your “life path” will look like.  Whether you’re one or the other or somewhere in between, we want to see God reveal to you exactly where you’re headed.  God is raising up revivalists that are going into every sphere of society – arts & entertainment, government, technology, education, etc. – and we believe you’re part of that group.  We want to equip you to grasp hold of the destiny God has for you and pursue him passionately as he leads you into fulfilling everything He’s got for you. Mission
Music Music is one of the fundamental values at the core of who we are.  We not only appreciate a good jam, we know that music is a powerful tool to worship the Living God.  We are looking for God to release a new voice on our campus and we want to be part of what he’s doing.  “Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth! Sing out the honor of His name; Make His praise glorious.” (Psalm 66:1-2 NKJV) Mission
Family While your fellow students can be an awesome community, you will find that it takes more than just 20-somethings to challenge, support, and encourage you to the fullest.  JesusU is not just a college ministry, but the college “arm” of The Rock of Gainesville – a nondenominational church made up of all kinds of people – children, senior citizens, families, single people, young professionals, retirees – you name it, we’ve got it.  In this atmosphere we have seen that “God sets the solitary in families” (Psalm 68:8 NKJV) for their benefit and for the benefit of His kingdom.  You will find that even though you may have left your family several hundred or even thousands of miles away, people here will become like mothers and fathers, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters that care for you just as you were their own. Mission
Bible Study We not only want to connect you with friends that will be nice to you (and maybe even help you move), we want you to be challenged and provoked to know what you believe.  Because the Bible is the basis of our faith, we know it is important to keep it on hearts & in our mouths.  We want to create a culture of Christians that search the Word for the answers to tough problems rather than seeing it as a shallow self-help tool.  We use small groups that meet regularly to see that each student learns how to properly use the word for what it is – “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12 NKJV) Mission
Connect Groups In our society, where we have so many opportunities to be connected to others, it seems there is an all-time high of people who feel disconnected.  We are determined to see students establish relationships with each other that go deep & wide – from challenging each other in the word to challenging each other at Halo.  Connect Groups are our way of establishing that community in smaller settings outside of regular JesusU meetings. Small Groups
Prayer If we are to see all the things we’d like on our campus – awakening, revival, whatever you want to call it – we must be believers that call out to God.  If we do not see the power of God in our lives & in people around us, we must remember that Jesus said some things only come with prayer and fasting.  Prayer is an essential part of our culture and foundational in who we are & who we are becoming. Mission
Volunteering We believe that putting students in the middle of serving is a great way to get them in the middle of what God’s doing.  While college can be a time where there’s a lot of pressure to focus on what “you need to do”, it’s important to recognize that Jesus told us our focus should first be on God and second on others.  Maintaining this correct focus will save you from the trappings of the world’s culture and keep you looking for what God is doing in the moment rather than checking off a list of “good deeds” and missing the point entirely. Mission
